Today's Marketing Cookie is a warning for anyone who is considering a career in marketing. If you jump into this profession you will become more passionate and determined, or you won't survive in a marketing career for very long. A career in marketing is not for everyone. If you join a revenue marketing agency like mine, the pressure to produce leads for clients can be immense, but when it works, the adrenaline rush is additive.

Marketing is faster-paced than fast, and more stressful than your average-run-of-the-mill-stress. That's why I love it! I wake up early on Monday mornings so I can get a head start on the week. Meanwhile, I see people lamenting on Facebook about needing more coffee, and by day's end, already wishing for the weekend to arrive.

I'm not saying that your passion for marketing will turn you into a workaholic like mine did. On the contrary, I'm saying that you could become a marketing-aholic, and that's when your work transforms into a mission. 

As my mother used to say, "If you love what you do, you won't work a day in your life." I am blessed to have a career that suits me so well, and you can too. Just be careful, because once the passion and determination gets a foothold, you may get hooked.
