Today's Marketing Cookie makes me smile. You might expect me to dive into the intricacies of long-term marketing strategies and how they pave the way to success, but I'd rather talk about the benefits of failure. The deeper I delve into the marketing world, the more I'm reminded of how much there is to learn – especially the basics. Interestingly, the most valuable lessons I've learned stem from my biggest blunders.
The truth is that you can't make all of your best mistakes on your first day. To be a world-class expert, you need to make and learn from a lot of errors, and do so over the course of many years. I've found that the only way to navigate the living room in the dark is to have already tripped on all the furniture several times before. Just like a video game, it takes time to learn where all the pitfalls are and how to eventually skip past them.
With two decades of marketing experience under my belt, I've gathered a wealth of hard-earned insights that help me hit the ground running, achieving quicker results. And I always succeed, except for when I don't. When I miss the mark, it's usually because I strayed from the foundationals, and making a mistake like that, will get you every time!
